PADI SEARCH & RECOVERY DIVER

The PADI Search & Recovery certification teaches you the safe and effective methods required to locate and retrieve objects underwater. From finding lost equipment, a GoPro or even an anchor you will have the skills that make you in demand and the darling of any dive boat.

Search and recovery can be challenging, but a whole lot of fun, not to mention extremely practical. During 4 open water dives you’ll master various search patterns using your compass and natural navigation. You’ll locate both large and small objects using these search patterns, and master using a lift bag for large or heavy objects. You’ll learn the benefits of different recovery methods and how to plan a search operation based on facts gathered about a lost object prior to the dive.

This certification gives recreational divers the tools required to branch out in directions they may never have thought of, and is an essential part of any diver’s skill set.

• Prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver certification
