Why Take The Course?

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course gives you an insight into the actual instructor development process and prepares you to shape the next generation of PADI professionals. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you can independently teach PADI Assistant Instructor Courses as well as assist with IDCs and other instructor-level continuing education courses.

About The Course

The course begins with a pre-assessment of your instructor-level knowledge of dive theory, the PADI system, dive skills and role-model presentation techniques.

You’ll then participate in these sessions:

• Instructor development standards, procedures and curriculum.
• How to organize and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course.
• The psychology of evaluation and counseling.
• Evaluating knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations.

The Benefits Of Our IDC Staff Instructor Course

During an entire PADI IDC you will work closely together with our PADI Course Director, learning how to fairly evaluate and mentor instructor candidates to build their confidence. Acting as a role model you will help to guide the instructor candidates through the course, gaining a valuable understanding of the psychology of teaching.

Price includes all PADI materials, equipment and diving costs. Excludes PADI IDC Staff Instructor application fee AUD214, which will be paid directly to PADI via credit card.

Who Can Take The Course?

Master Scuba Diver Trainers (MSDTs) who are ready to be excellent role models and agree to use the PADI System and components in their entirety may enroll in an IDC Staff Instructor course. You will need to be renewed and in Teaching status as a PADI MSDT for the current year.
