PADI ENRICHED AIR DIVER (NITROX)

Enriched Air, also known as “Nitrox”,  is air with an increased percentage of oxygen and lower percentage of nitogren than the air we normally breathe. Using Nitrox allows divers to extend bottom time and reduce nitrogen loading. It does not allow divers to go deeper which is a common misconception.

The course can be completed in as little as an afternoon, during which you will learn theory and practice procedures for obtaining and analyzing enriched air with your instructor. You’ll  also learn why diving with gas mix that has a higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content allows you to extend your bottom time but NOT your depth.

Also covered in the course are enriched air equipment considerations, discussions on managing oxygen exposure, practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank and learning how to set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

Diving with Nitrox allows you more time to see the beauty of life underwater , and this certification makes you a more knowledgeable and confident diver.

• Prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certification
